For many years there has been controversy and misinformation about Charles Manson's birth certificate. Some claim he was born as "No Name Maddox". Few copies of his birth certificate have ever surfaced.

Here at MansonDirect.com, we have investigated with the help of those friendly to the cause, and we uncovered his real, authentic, legitimate birth certificate in January 2004. This birth certificate is an official, legal copy on watermarked paper with an embossed seal from the City of Cincinnati.

One problem with obtaining his birth certificate is that the hospital typed his mother's last name incorrectly- they typed Moddox instead of Maddox. His birth date is often given as November 11, but it is actually November 12. With the correct information, we obtained from the City of Cincinnati, Department of Health, Vital Records, an official, legitimate, stamped and sealed copy of Charles Manson's real birth certificate.

It is important to note that in the bottom right box, there is no entry where it says "Date on which given name added". When the certificate was officially registered on December 3, 1934, his name was in fact shown Charles Milles Manson.

Manson's Mother, Kathleen, said in 1971 that she was not fully decided on a name, and waited a couple of days until her own mother arrived in Cincinnati to help her choose the best first name. The name they choose was Charles, after Kathleen's father. A considerable amount of thought and caring went into the selection of the name. At no time was Charles Milles Manson ever given "No Name" out of lack of caring or indifference.

I hope this ends the "No Name Maddox" myth once and for all. Also, this certificate shows his Father, William Manson as being in the dry cleaning industry, a fact many have not heard before.
